AMT242: Turbine Engine Theory and Instrumentation

This course introduces turbine engine operational theory and the instrumentation used to evaluate engine performance. Students study airflow dynamics, compression, combustion, and energy transfer within turbofan, turboprop, and turboshaft engines. Instruction includes interpreting performance data, diagnosing abnormal indications, and inspecting major turbine components. Students also examine instrumentation systems such as EGT, torque, fuel flow, and oil temperature. Emphasis is placed on safe operation, performance evaluation, and FAA-compliant inspection practices.

MAT025 (Pre-Algebra) or satisfactory basic skills assessment score
