This course covers reciprocating engine ignition, starting, and electrical power-generation systems, including magnetos, solid-state ignitions, generators, and alternators. Students inspect and troubleshoot ignition components, starting circuits, regulators, relays, wiring, and protective devices using FAA-approved methods. Training includes high-voltage safety practices and performance testing of AC/DC systems. Students learn to evaluate rotorcraft flight control rigging, blade tracking, vibration assessment, and proper ground-handling procedures. This course completes FAA Airframe topics and begins teaching Powerplant requirements.
