A lecture portion of existing Physics courses that will provide a lecture experience for only those students who are transferring in credits for 4-credit Physics courses (3 credits lecture, 1 credit laboratory), in which they successfully passed the laboratory portion but not the lecture component, i.e. lecture and lab are graded separately. The Physics course lecture selected must closely match the transferred Physics course and must have the explicit approval of both the lecture instructor and the Dean of the Division of STEM. Only if seating is available will students be allowed to register for the appropriate lecture section during the ADD period. Students who transfer in more than one Physics course may register twice (but, not for the same lecture experience) for PHY197. Students with lecture deficiencies in Physics courses taken at CCCC will not be allowed to register for PHY197, since science courses at CCCC are designed and taught such that the laboratory and lecture grades are combined.
