This course covers the operation, inspection, and troubleshooting of aircraft environmental systems and reciprocating engine induction, cooling, and exhaust systems. Students analyze airflow principles; service induction components, turbochargers, and carburetor heat systems; and identify hazards such as icing and contamination. Training includes evaluating drains, cowl flaps, exhaust assemblies, leak checks, and heat exchangers. Students also inspect pressurization, air-cycle, vapor-cycle, oxygen, and waste systems using FAA-approved procedures. The course completes Airframe topics and begins with Powerplant requirements.
