Veteran's Benefits

Cape Cod Community College welcomes and appreciates our Veterans. 4Cs has Veterans Administration (VA) approval for educational training of Veterans and their dependents including all chapters of the GI Bill®

The Financial Aid Office certifies payment for all VA Education Benefits. Veterans receive assistance obtaining tuition waivers and GI Bill® payments. The office provides application materials, contact information, and certifies enrollment.

Under the Categorical Tuition Waiver Program for Veterans and Active Duty Members, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts provides its Veterans, National Guard members, and Active Duty military stationed in Massachusetts with tuition waivers. The waiver is approximately a 15% discount on the tuition for each class. MA National Guard members may receive full tuition and fee coverage under programs such as the Massachusetts National Guard Tuition Waiver Program.

Many Veterans receive financial assistance through the VA. Assistance may be in the form of tuition, fees, books, and monthly living stipends. The amount varies with each Veteran's situation and with the number of credits per term. Spouses and children of disabled or deceased Veterans may also qualify for monthly education payments. Students utilizing VA educational benefits will be charged in-state resident rates. The College also participates in the VA Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) program.

The VA provides an online application for benefits at https://benefits.va.gov/gibill/. Veterans should apply for a degree or certificate program through the Admissions Office. Once registered for classes, the Financial Aid Office will certify and monitor enrollment.

Non-Punitive: Grade that does not affect GPA and for which VA education benefits CANNOT be used. Such grades include incomplete, no-show, and dropped/withdrawal from class. Additionally, VA educational benefits cannot be used for audited or non-credit courses.

Cape Cod Community College will adhere to the requirements of and comply with S2248 PL 115-407 Section 103, Veterans Benefits and Transition Act of 2018.
