This course focuses on the patient/client across the life span with acute major health problems. The curriculum builds upon knowledge of scientific principles and utilization of critical thinking. Nursing process, interpersonal communication, stress adaptation, cultural competence and environmental influences are integrated. The structured acute care setting and the on-campus nursing laboratory are primarily utilized for application of nursing knowledge and development of clinical skills.
