HRM160: Professional Bar Management and Mixology

Students learn foundational bartending skills and will take the TIPS national certification exam required by many jurisdictions in the Commonwealth for servers of alcohol. Topics include knowledge of spirits, liqueurs, and mixers; understanding of cocktail theory and recipe development; bar and beverage management skills; customer service, professionalism, and teamwork. Massachusetts alcohol laws, liability and responsibilities are covered. Hands-on labs will be provided in making and serving drinks.  Must be 18 years old to enroll in the course.
