ENR109 : AutoCAD for Architecture

This is a first course in computer aided drafting with a focus on architectural design practices using Autodesk’s AutoCAD and Revit software. This course introduces students to the architecture and design industry and its multiple opportunities. Students are introduced to the standard graphical means of communication between the architect and the constructor. The emphasis is on developing drafting techniques using the computer as the drafting tool. Specific topics include 2-D drawing, multi-view drawing, orthographic views, dimensioning, sectional views, graphic patterns, 3D form and space with an introduction to Building Integrated Model (BIM) software. The production of a basic set of architectural drawings is completed throughout the semester.
